Champagne house
Thierry Fournier
Nestled in the picturesque Marne valley, Thierry Fournier Champagne is a family-run estate that spans 15 hectares across 11 communes, each contributing unique aromatic profiles to its blends. This region, often overshadowed by larger champagne houses, is now experiencing a renaissance thanks to a new generation of winemakers eager to showcase its exceptional terroir. The clay-limestone soils of the Marne valley are particularly favorable for viticulture, allowing for the cultivation of distinctive grapes that reflect the character of the land. Central to Thierry Fournier's philosophy is the dominant grape variety, Pinot Meunier, which comprises 80% of their vineyards. This grape thrives on the estate's soils and plays a crucial role in crafting wines with depth and richness. Thierry and Julien Fournier, representing the fifth generation of the family, are committed to honoring traditional methods while also exploring new possibilities within their diverse terroir. Their dedication to quality is evident in the extended cellar aging of their champagnes, resulting in wines that are not only delicious but also rich in identity and character.
