Louise Brison

Nestled in Noé les Mallets in the southern Côte des Bar, the Louise Brison estate spans 15 hectares of meticulously cultivated vineyards, including a notable 8-hectare single plot. The vines, primarily old massal selections aged around 40 years, thrive in complex soils rich in Kimmeridgian marl and Portlandian limestone, imparting natural tension and exceptional aging potential to the grapes. The terroir here is reminiscent of that found in Chablis, contributing to the unique character of Louise Brison champagnes. Since adopting organic practices in 2011 and achieving certification in 2020, the estate has focused on a rational approach to viticulture. Delphine Brulez, the estate’s steward, employs detailed soil analyses and mapping to ensure optimal vine health and expression. Each champagne is crafted from a single vintage and aged for a minimum of five years in oak barrels, with malolactic fermentation tailored to the specific wine. Emphasizing the role of Chardonnay in a region known for Pinot Noir, Louise Brison showcases a distinctive style that highlights freshness and finesse, resulting in champagnes that are broad, saline, and expressive.
