Stéphane Hardy
Stéphane Hardy Champagne House, nestled in Tours-sur-Marne near the Reims Mountains, has a rich history spanning generations of farmers and winemakers. The Hardy family initially focused on cereal farming, with roots tracing back to Stéphane's great-grandfather, who settled in Champagne. It wasn't until the 1960s that they ventured into the world of champagne production, with the first bottles being marketed by Stéphane's father, Michel. Today, Stéphane and his wife Carine manage two hectares of vineyards alongside their diverse agricultural activities, which include growing barley and lentils across 126 hectares. A pioneer of organic viticulture, Stéphane began his journey towards sustainability in 1998, driven by personal health concerns and a desire to nurture the land. His vineyards are now cultivated without pesticides or chemical fertilizers, embracing biodynamic practices that promote ecological balance. This commitment to nature is reflected in the distinct character of his champagnes, which include cuvées crafted from organically grown grapes. Stéphane's approach, marked by minimal intervention and a deep respect for the soil's biodiversity, results in a unique and expressive champagne that embodies the essence of its terroir.
