Olivier Rousseaux

Champagne Olivier Rousseaux is nestled in Verzenay, a Grand Cru village within the renowned Montagne de Reims. This estate thrives on a cooler, north-facing slope, which allows the grapes to achieve excellent ripeness while retaining their natural freshness and tension. The predominantly limestone and chalk soils contribute to the wines' elegance and structure, with Pinot Noir leading the charge, showcasing both power and finesse. Chardonnay complements the blends, adding balance and subtlety, while old vines and diverse parcels enhance the complexity of the cuvées. The history of Olivier Rousseaux began post-World War II when Robert Lécompère, a cooper, took the first steps toward winemaking. His family continued this legacy, culminating in 1985 when Olivier took the reins at just 19 and established his own winery in 1991, ensuring full control over production. Today, with a commitment to artisanal practices and sustainable viticulture, Olivier and his daughter Juliette create Champagnes that embody the unique terroir of Verzenay. Their cuvées are characterized by precision, clarity, and balance, making them delightful for both casual enjoyment and formal dining.
