Marteaux Guillaume

Champagne Marteaux Guillaume is situated in Bonneil, nestled within the picturesque Marne Valley, a region recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With a rich heritage spanning five generations, this family estate is dedicated to showcasing the unique terroir of its 8 hectares of vineyards. The south/southeast facing vines thrive in a diverse landscape of clayey-limestone, marl, and clay soils, producing complex wines primarily from Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. The vineyard's elevation of 120 meters, along with its natural protection from winds, allows for optimal sunlight exposure, resulting in ripe and flavorful grapes. Under the stewardship of Guillaume Marteaux, who embraced modern oenology after his studies in 2003, the estate has evolved while respecting its traditions. Committed to sustainability, Guillaume transitioned to organic farming in 2018, achieving Ecocert certification in 2022 and Demeter in 2023. His approach emphasizes natural methods, including cover cropping and composting, ensuring the health of the vineyard for future generations. Though the current cuvées may not yet carry these labels, they reflect the exceptional craftsmanship and vision of this dedicated winemaker.
