Champagne Marc Billiard & Fils, established in the charming village of Avenay-Val-d’Or, has been a family-run vineyard since 1883. Managed by Jonathan Billiard, the estate spans just 2 hectares, meticulously divided into 18 small plots that exemplify the family’s commitment to traditional Champagne craftsmanship. With a philosophy grounded in simplicity and authenticity, every aspect of the production process is conducted by hand, allowing the unique characteristics of the terroir and each vintage to shine through. Located near the renowned regions of Aÿ and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, Avenay-Val-d’Or boasts a complex soil profile of chalk, clay, and sand, which contributes to the wines' balanced and expressive nature. The vineyard is primarily planted with 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, and 20% Pinot Meunier, with vines ranging from 1 to 60 years old. The champagnes of Marc Billiard & Fils are known for their finesse and purity, crafted without wood influence to preserve clarity and fruit expression, making each cuvée a true reflection of both the land and the year.
