Champagne house
Lancelot Royer
Located in the prestigious Côte des Blancs, Lancelot-Royer is a family-owned Champagne house that showcases the purity of Chardonnay from six celebrated villages, including Cramant and Avize, all classified as Grand Cru. The estate's vineyards benefit from a unique chalky terroir, producing champagnes that are remarkably fine, tense, and generous. Since its establishment in 1960 by Pierre Lancelot, the house has adhered to a philosophy of terroir-driven production. Under the stewardship of his daughter Sylvie and her husband Michel Chauvet, the estate has continued to thrive, with vinification processes emphasizing gravity transfer and the use of foudres and oak barrels for aging. Now, with the arrival of Édouard and his wife Marie, who bring a fresh perspective from their backgrounds in aerospace engineering, Lancelot-Royer is poised to explore new approaches while remaining true to its heritage. The resulting champagnes are characterized by precision and elegance, making them ideal for both dining and aging.
